Penn Square renovations planned

Fifty is as good an age as any for a facelift for a person or a shopping mall. When Penn Square celebrated its 52nd year in 2012, the owner, Simon Property Group Inc., decided it was time for a little cosmetic work. For years it was an open-air mall. Later it was enclosed, and in the late 1980s underwent a major transformation into the mall it is today. In recent years, minor upgrades have been made to the interior and exterior. Read more

Apartments sell for $1.65 million

 Price Edwards & Co. brokered the sale of the Golden Oaks Apartments at 5811 N.W. 34th for $1.65 million. The 126-unit apartment complex was built in were built in 1964. The sale came out to $13,095 per unit. Read more

City, state officials discuss boulevard plans

Officials with the Oklahoma Department of Transportation attended a public meeting with hat in hand Aug. 22 concerning plans for the new boulevard in downtown Oklahoma City. Tempers flared in the audience, but there was no acrimony from ODOT officials who acknowledged that there have been misconceptions and misunderstandings as to the plans for the $80 million, 10.5-block stretch of road that will sit where the Interstate 40 bridges once stood.

OKC improves ISO ranking

Home and business owners in Oklahoma City could see their insurance premiums dropping in the near future based on findings in a report from the Insurance Services Office. The organization is the leading supplier of actuarial, statistical, underwriting and claims data and services to the property casualty insurance industry. In the latest report, Oklahoma City moved from a classification of nine to a five – one being the best, and 10, the worst. Read more

The Central Oklahoma Transportation and Parking Authority is looking to ease parking woes Downtown with construction of a new parking garage just south of city hall. On July 13, COTPA entered into an agreement to hire TAParchitecture to design a $20 million garage.
