4:33 a.m.: Awake. Check the Weather Channel and start rehab exercises for my shoulder that is healing from major rotator cuff surgery.
5:08 a.m.: Outside to get the newspaper. What a beautiful moon! Start a load of wash, set up a conference call with a California investor, jump on the stair stepper.
5:45 a.m.: Work up a sweat and good heart rate while watching CNBC to be informed and country western videos to stay motivated ... gotta love Alan Jackson's "I'm a Country Boy!"
5:49 a.m.: Into the shower. No time for a walk this morning.
6:46 a.m.: Headed to the OKC Chamber Legislative breakfast, listening to a book on tape my daughter-in-law loaned me.
6:51 a.m.: The morning moonlight made me smile.
7:28 a.m.: Book on tape lasted five minutes, then I switched to a classical music channel so I could make two mental agendas for meetings today. Just arrived at Marriott.
7:46 a.m.: Breakfast included scrambled eggs and bacon and cantaloupe - left the rest for the compost pile.
8:11 a.m.: Listened to great legislative dialogue and kept up with e-mail and texts - delegating some tasks and setting up meetings while I engaged in the discussion.
8:16 a.m.: Take away from Legislative breakfast: Both the House and Senate plan to make lawsuit reform a priority - that would be significant!
8:46 a.m.: Head to the OKC Chamber to meet with Dave Leland, an economic development guru Robin Roberts brought to OKC - good opportunity!
11:34 a.m.: Just finished a fantastic three-hour meeting with Dave Leland and gave him the Downtown OKC housing tour. Back in my car now headed to Norman and the office to prepare for a bank meeting this afternoon.
12:02 p.m.: Ran thru the drive-thru at CVS to pick up a prescription, got my cleaning at the drive-thru, picked up a salad at Chick-Fil-A.
12:49 p.m.: Just did some financial work on the furniture manufacturing company I have in North Carolina.
1:29 p.m.: Going into a conference call. Will be out for a bit.
3:35 p.m.: I just finished a presentation for a meeting with one of my bankers. I am headed that way to meet with them.
3:43 p.m.: Just helped the Fijis on the OU campus set up a philanthropy event on Campus Corner in April. I love Campus Corner!
3:52 p.m.: Staying connected via e-mail with my partner who is in Mexico on a short vacation. Our staying connected is one of our major strengths!
5:16 p.m.: Meeting with banker ... smiles and handshakes ... whew!
5:21 p.m.: I have the pleasure of meeting with Michelle and Andrea on the patio at Blu for a glass of wine while we talk about their MBA program. Mentoring is a blast!
5:44 p.m.: Got to teach my 20 somethings how to use the Google text ... and my glass of wine is a Sav Blanc from New Zealand.
6:20 p.m.: Headed to City Council and it started raining cats and dogs and hailing, so I pulled into a Conoco to weather the storm.
8:47 p.m.: Just finished City Council meeting in Norman with what appears to be a positive solution for a new golf course and apartment development on the south side. Headed home.
9:01 p.m.: Pulled out some homemade turkey chili I had frozen and microwaved a bowl while I turned on the Weather Channel to see what other weather was planned.
9:22 p.m.: Put on my workout clothes. Turned on "Dateline."
9:38 p.m.: TV off. Time to organize the leftovers from today for tomorrow.
10:10 p.m.: Got through all the e-mails and even got a reply from one of my MBA girls and helped her with her letter for an internship in New York. Ready to begin my rehab exercises for my rotator cuff recovery.
10:48 p.m.: Rehab exercises done. Teeth brushed, face washed, headed to bed. I will be asleep when my head hits the pillow. What a great day! Can't wait for tomorrow!
