City officials celebrated the grand opening of Fire Station No. 4, 14200 Hogback Road, on Sep. 29. It is the first new station built in Oklahoma City in 15 years.
"This location allows crews to respond quickly to the growing number of people who live in far northeast Oklahoma City," Fire Chief Keith Bryant said.
The new building features a state-of-the-art alerting system, a decontamination area, a room dedicated to EMS gear and a rig room with an infrared heating system, among other modern design elements.
The station, funded through the 2000 GO Bond Issue, replaces the former Fire Station 4, 101 SW 4.
