In May 2005, Philip Busey Jr. joined The Busey Group of Companies, overseeing all communication, public relations, marketing and advertising efforts for the organization.

He currently is completing his MBA at Oklahoma City University's Meinders School of Business. Previously, he received his bachelor's degree in communication arts at Southwestern Oklahoma State University.

In his current role, he helps the Busey Group of Companies grow and expand into new markets, shifting from primarily the aerospace/defense industry to now also being in the oil and gas industry.

Last year, he co-founded Business/Connect, a monthly luncheon that has grown into a respected community meeting, addressing important business topics. Its mission is to help promote and encourage relationships between generations of business professionals.

Busey serves on the advisory council of American University's Washington Internship for Native Students Program, and in 2008, was appointed vice chairman. He also serves as chairman for the OKC chapter of the American Indian Chamber of Commerce of Oklahoma. He sits on the administrative board at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, and is a member of Downtown Kiwanis Club of OKC and Men's Dinner Club of OKC.
