Fans of American fare, country music and good times can sing along with Toby Keith as the performer plans to open 19 of his eponymous bars and eateries around the country by year’s end.
The flagship Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar and Grill – named for a 2003 song where Keith celebrates a bar that is his “kind of place” – opened in Oklahoma City in 2005 along with one in Las Vegas. The song centers on a raucous watering hole with good times guaranteed for all. Each location regularly features live country music and televisions showing country music videos.
The menus consist of comfort food items, including ribs, wings, steaks, rotisserie chicken, catfish, sandwiches and salads. The waitresses who serve patrons beer in Mason Jars are referred to as “Whiskey Girls.”
Other Oklahoma branches of the chain are at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa and the WinStar World Casino in Thackerville. The new stores that already have opened this year are in Dallas, Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., Cincinnati, Ohio, and Folsom, Calif. Upcoming stores are slated for Chicago, Virginia Beach, Va., Washington, D.C., and Syracuse, NY.
Each location also is meant to appeal to the patriotic. The interiors feature red, white and blue color schemes. Military veterans can show their military IDs to receive a free, one-time American Soldier Combo, which includes a cheeseburger, fries, and a beer or soft drink.
