Live and Let Dine

Kristen Vails

Executive Director

Plaza District Association

Antojitos Guatemaltecos

1800 N.W. 16th

521-1899

This authentic Guatemalan gem is hidden in the back of Guate Imports in the Plaza District. I always grab an orange bottled soda from the cooler, wave hello to ladies patting homemade tortillas, and order carne asada. They bring me a heaping plate of meat, black beans, salsa, macaroni salad, avocado and my favorite: homemade tortillas. Ladies, beware: The portions are huge!

T.E.A. Cafe

1241 E. Alameda, Norman

okteacafe.com 366-1555

The rice box and coffee frappés fueled late nights in the studio for this art student. T.E.A. Cafe’s East Asian menu is perfect for catching up over bubble tea or to take a date on the lovely Campus Corner.

Waffle Champion

You’re bound to spot me at this mobile food truck with a mouthful of sweet or savory waffle goodness. So far, my favorite has been a lemon curd with whipped cream cheese frosting with wafers. The menu is always different, but then again, so is my mood. Catch it at local events, or its usual spot at 23rd and Walker.
