Live and Let Dine

This month's Live and Let Dine is hosted by Kym Koch Thompson,  owner and founder Koch Communications.

Signature Grill
1317 E. Danforth, Edmond

330-4548

Tiny, dark, crowded, a little loud — not really attributes of a fine-dining establishment. But none of that matters when you take your first bite of seared foie gras on a grilled baguette with melted Cambozola cheese, prosciutto di Parma, cranberryclove port wine jam and a sprig of fried sage.

No more details needed. If you don’t go for this appetizer alone, don’t go; I will take your table.

Legend’s Restaurant

1313 W. Lindsey, Norman

I don’t know what it is, but I can’t help but think “old money” when I walk in the door. If you’ve ever lived or dined anywhere in the South, you’ll know what I mean. It’s a dressed-up, but laid-back special place for special occasions or dinner with friends. Have the schnitzel.

Couscous Cafe
6165 N. May Ave.
286-1533

Inexpensive, fresh, authentic Moroccan fare. Love the chicken shawarma, tender kebabs and the lamb tagine (stew). The restaurant is small and nondescript, but the owner is incredibly hospitable. Do not miss the hot, mint, sweet tea, served in kettles and glasses provided by the owner’s mother. Finish with the homemade yogurt! You may be surrounded by diners speaking Arabic — you’ll feel so cosmopolitan.
