Next stage

Fall into another season of local theater productions

Returning with the cooler weather is another hot season of plays and musicals.

And unlike, say, Broadway’s debacle of “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark,” the stage is set for a rosy year.

“Around the country, there’s been some real challenges, but in Oklahoma City, we’ve been really blessed to have great support and a real appreciation for the arts,” says Larry Payton, Celebrity Attractions president. “For Oklahoma, the arts — particularly theater — have been doing well. I think, hopefully, we’re over the challenging times of a couple years before.”

Mark your calendars and/or BlackBerries; here’s an at-a-glance look for what’s on tap in the 2011-12 theater season.
