Weiss Ratings is an independent group that helps companies, professionals and institutions monitor financial service companies such as American Fidelity. The “A” rating indicates the company has the resources to withstand poor economic conditions. It is given to less than two percent of the nation’s health and life insurers.
The Ward Group, a consulting firm, specializes in insurance companies. It included American Fidelity in its Top 50 health and life insurance companies. The listing, which analyzes more than 800 insurance companies, is based on a five-year period in the areas of safety, consistency and performance.
Robert Brearton, chief financial officer for American Fidelity, said achieving the accolades are a testament to how dedicated the company is to its customers.
“American Fidelity Assurance is committed to remaining financially secure to meet the needs of our customers. These exceptional national ratings are indicators that we are meeting that goal,” Brearton said. “Both organizations are well respected in the industry, and to have their seal of approval shows that we are performing well.”
