Unemployment declines in May


State rate drops to 5.3 percent as national rate climbs


Oklahoma’s unemployment rate improved through May, dropping to 5.3 percent over the month.

For the same period, the national unemployment rose by 0.1 percentage points to 9.1 percent. Over the year, the state’s unemployment rate declined by 1.8 percentage points.
