Live and Let Dine: Lisa Janssen

Media Relations Supervisor, Saxum

Service Station

506 S Webster, Norman 364-2139

This is a favorite from my days as a student at the University of Oklahoma. The restaurant is full of old gas station signs and memorabilia, and the menu is themed accordingly. The Packard Burger is my burger of choice: blue cheese and bacon bits on sourdough toast, with a side of lug nuts (fried okra).

Kamp’s 1910 Cafe

10 NE 10th kamps1910cafe.net 230-1910

This is a favorite of our office, since it’s just a few blocks over. The food is great, and everyone is so friendly. I love the Pacific Railcar turkey and avocado sandwich with pasta salad. Their cupcakes are also excellent.

Michael’s Grill

2824 W Country Club Drive 810-9000

This restaurant is Oklahoma City’s best-kept secret. The service is phenomenal, the atmosphere is very intimate, and the food is delicious. I order the wedge salad and 8-ounce filet. They also have a fantastic wine list.
