In October, Oklahoma's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate remained at 6.9 percent from the previous month. Oklahoma's October 2010 rate is also the same as the October 2009 unemployment rate.
The national unemployment rate held steady at 9.6 percent in October 2010.
In October, over-the-month losses were seen in the supersectors of Trade, Transportation & Utilities (-1,500 jobs); Financial Activities (-1,000 jobs); Leisure & Hospitality (-800 jobs); and Government (-1,700 jobs). Manufacturing (+900 jobs) posted the largest job gain for the month.
