AAA projected Aug. 25 that the number of Oklahomans traveling over Labor Day weekend will be up 8.9% over the holiday period last year. Of the 379,100 Oklahomans expected to travel, 365,600 will drive, a 9.3% jump over 2009 figures, and 16,000 will fly, an increase of 3.6%.
Americans traveling this Labor Day holiday weekend will increase 9.9% from Labor Day of 2009, with approximately 34.4 million travelers taking a trip at least 50 miles away from home.
