The Urban Gardener OKC opened its doors at 3711 N Western Ave. next to Cock of the Walk at the corner of NW 36th and Western Avenue. The 900-square-foot store offers hydroponics, organics, horticultural lighting and nutrients for gardeners and plant lovers.

Owner Gavin Swiden says his store offers many hard-to-find products not offered at Lowe's or Home Depot including his own line of fertilizers named GiganticGrow, a stand-alone fertilizer for soil applications.

"We also offer take home plants for people who haven't had success with gardening in the past," Swiden says. "They're pre-nutriented plants. You just take a plant home and add water to it and you're guaranteed results with it. Once a month you just add a little GiganticGrow to it and you should be set."

Mexibell peppers, Heirloom tomatoes, Cherry tomatoes, Beefeater tomatoes are for sale ranging from $16 to $20.

Store hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
