North OKC
The first office building of four at Commons on Broadway, 11600 Broadway Extension, is nearing completion. Vanguard Development will take 3,000 square feet of space on the building’s second floor, and Hogan Taylor LLP, a retail accounting firm, will take 17,000 square feet on the third floor. Hogan Taylor plans to move to the site in November. The building’s first floor and part of its second floor are currently available. Sixty-one covered parking spaces on the north and east sides of the facility are available for rent at $50 per month.

Building owner Steve Cottom with Vanguard Development says the office project will sit on 12 acres and, when complete, feature four office buildings. Grubb & Ellis|Levy Beffort is handling the leasing for the building’s remaining space. The lease rate is $20.75 per square foot, full-service. Rick Brown of Rick Brown & Associates is handling the architectural design for the project.

Vanguard also owns three of the four corner lots at Broadway Extension and Hefner Road, which will later see commercial development, depending on market activity, Cottom says.

Mercy Health Network opened its 10th metro clinic, Mercy Health Quailbrook, 4345 W Memorial Road, Ste. 110. Family medicine physicians Jason Hart, Visal Pok and Elizabeth Wickersham will comprise the Quailbrook team. The new 8,100-square-foot building also houses Mercy’s Sleep Disorders Center, Mercy Human Resources and Mercy Health Network Administration.

“This is a milestone for Mercy Health Network,” says James Dixson, the network’s president. “What started out as one physician now encompasses more than 60 family practice, internal medicine and pediatric physicians in 10 Mercy clinics across the metro.”

Oklahoma City Community College Board of Regents in June approved a $58 million Educational and General Operating budget for the upcoming fiscal year, which began on July 1.

“This includes the resources to provide student services and instruction to over 20,000 college students and over 8,000 community education students who will attend OCCC next year,” says Paul Sechrist, OCCC president.

The budget does not include salary and wage increases for next year. It does fund current positions, and no furloughs are anticipated. The budget also maintains student tuition and fees at the current level. Sechrist says holding tuition at its current level was made possible through a combination of not giving raises and the $1.9 million in federal stimulus funding the college received.

Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity recently opened its second Habitat Renovation Station at 2805 SW 29. General Manager Corey Roberts says the nonprofit organization saw the need to expand its service on the south side of the metro, and the facility will have available the same services as its first location Downtown on Broadway Avenue.

A new Crest Foods is planned for the corner of SW 104 and May Avenue. Founders, officers, employees, friends and family recently celebrated its groundbreaking with the South OKC Chamber.

Moore
Hobby Lobby recently signed a lease agreement for 55,000 square feet of retail space in The Shops at Moore Power Center, located on the southeast corner of Interstate 35 and S 19th Street in Moore. Mark Inman with CB Richard Ellis/Oklahoma handled the transaction.

Norman
Tulsa-based Ihloff Salon and Day Spa opened its 2,400-square-foot Aveda Lifestyle salon at 36th Ave. NW and Robinson in Norman. The spa has two other locations in Tulsa and Kansas City.

“We’ve been recognized by Salon Today as one of the 200 fastest-growing salons in America and in Elle magazine as the best salon in Oklahoma,” says General Manager Cassandra Standefor, who notes the salon features 12 styling stations, two treatment rooms and a manicure station.

Yukon
Built in 2001, Integris Canadian Valley Regional Hospital, 1201 Health Center Parkway, is already in the the midst of a $27 million expansion. In March 2008, Nabholz Construction began working on the project, which will include an additional 42,000 square feet to the facility’s existing 128,000 square feet of space. In December, the 44-room hospital will see 18 new rooms in its emergency room.

Plans are for the ER and ICU to be completed in late December. The 30 patient rooms should be finished in March 2010.
