600 N.W. 23rd pizza23okc.com 601-6161
This is the new pizzeria joint along Uptown 23rd serving 23 fresh pizza toppings and 23 different beers. The Worx is my favorite (I love to pile on the toppings), but I haven’t been disappointed. Go for the lunch special: a personal pizza with up to three toppings and a large, refreshing salad for $8. Don’t forget to use your Keep It Local card to get 10% off a pizza.
The Daily Donut
10911 N. Western facebook.com/dailydonutokc 286-5599
Relatively new, this donut shop has become my sweet tooth’s newest weakness. It serves a unique gourmet donut for each day of the week (hence the name), including bacon, Fruity Pebbles and M&M’s. In addition, it has traditional donuts, cinnamon rolls, apple fritters, sausage rolls stuffed with cheese and/ or jalapeño and coffee, all for a reasonable price. Top recommendation: Friday’s key lime pie donut. I’m salivating just thinking about it!
Katie’s County Griddle
229 S. Santa Fe, Edmond 359-6372
This family diner is the place to go for some good ol’ home cookin’ just how Mom made it. The service is friendly, and the prices are very affordable, especially for the amount of food. Arrive early for breakfast because it’s sure to be packed. The create-your-own-breakfast plate is the best way to satisfy all your cravings. Make sure not to skip the French toast!
